Hillel Slovak was a musician of Israeli-American descent, born in 1962. He is most notably recognized for his role as an early guitarist of the Los Angeles-based rock band, the Red Hot Chili Peppers. During his tenure with the band, Slovak participated in the recording of two albums, leaving an indelible mark on their sound.

Slovak's musical style was characterized by its foundation in funk and hard rock, with a propensity for experimentation in other genres such as reggae and speed metal.
