Moša Pijade
угословенски/српски политичар и уметник
Moša Pijade was a multifaceted figure in Yugoslav society, excelling as a painter, journalist, and politician. His artistic talents were evident during the Interwar period, when he established himself as a skilled painter. However, his involvement in communist activities led to a significant portion of this time being spent in prison, totaling almost 15 years. Despite this, Pijade's commitment to his political beliefs endured, and he went on to play a pivotal role in the country's future.
Pijade's participation in World War II and the People's Liberation War marked a significant turning point in his career. As a close collaborator of Josip Broz Tito, he emerged as one of the main political leaders of the Partisans. Following the war and the establishment of socialist Yugoslavia, Pijade transitioned into a prominent political position, becoming the president of the Federal Parliament in 1954. He held this office until his death, and was also recognized as a full member of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, reflecting his contributions to both the political and artistic spheres.
