Abraham Zelmanov

Soviet physicist (1913–1987)

Abraham Zelmanov was a Soviet physicist born in 1913, whose work primarily focused on the General Theory of Relativity and cosmology. His contributions to the field were significant, as he developed a comprehensive mathematical approach to calculate observable physical quantities within the framework of the General Theory of Relativity. This breakthrough, achieved in 1944, laid the foundation for further research in the field.

Zelmanov's work in the 1940s led to the establishment of the theory of inhomogeneous anisotropic universe, where he identified various cosmological models that could theoretically exist within Einstein's theory. His research determined the possible scenarios of evolution for a universe that is both inhomogeneous and anisotropic, expanding the understanding of the cosmos within the context of the General Theory of Relativity. Zelmanov passed away in 1987, leaving behind a legacy of significant contributions to the field of physics.
